I recently upgraded my monitor that I use with my xbox but it doesn't have any speakers, if I was to purchase speakers that use a 3.5mm cable, would I be able to use them if I plug them into the controller? Or does the xbox need to recognise it as a headset to work?

I've tried using speakers with the 3.5 audio port, It didn't really work.
