The top screen only works at a certain angle, otherwise, it is either black or full of static. I think it may be an issue with the wiring especially because a part of the plastic protective shell has broken off around one of the hinges meaning they no longer work. What can I do to fix it? everything else is good.

Hi
You will need to replace the shell and screen assembly as there is a ribbon cable that flexes when you open and close the display and it sounds like that one has broken in your case
Here’s the teardown you will need
You just need to follow it until your parts are replaced
