Nikon d80 won't start after changing sd cards

Just restored a nikon d80 after it was sitting on a shelf for a few years. Batteries were dead so I ordered a new pair and they worked great for a week. However today I changed sd card and it suddenly stopped working and won't say there is even a battery in it.

Did you make sure the formatting was correct

Most cameras use FAT32 as it’s compatible with most OS’s

Have you checked that the battery is fully charged, you didn't say?
