OG Xbox not turning on.
I have an OG Xbox that was in storage until now. I plugged it into the wall and the video connected to my Tv, but no lights or sound when pressing either the on or eject button. When opening the Xbox, I found three capacitors bulging and a burn mark on the top side of the power supply board. I have ordered all replacement capacitors for the motherboard, but what else can I do about the power supply? There is no output voltage on the power supply, no caps bulging either, just a burn mark on the topside. Will a PC power supply with enough amps connected properly work in powering it?
Ist dies eine gute Frage?

What about that long black component with 4 pins?

@xert gamer13 I'm assuming it's the bridge rectifier (turning AC to DC). If the component (or the silk print on the PCB) shows a +, a - and two ~then it's 100% the bridge rectifier

xert gamer13 if you want to recap it, replace all the caps. Right now on your images I do not see one that would worry me unless you have measured the failure. Post some clean pictures of the top side and the bottom side. Straight on so we can actually see the whole power supply. the scorched part is indeed a rectifier. Question now is why did it scorch. Is there a heatsink on it?

@geirandersen what do you make out of the situation in the last picture? The Through -the-hole looks different.

@oldturkey03 xert gamer 13 WHOAH... That looks like severely oxidized solder on there! My first instinct was that there must have been oxidization built up and that has caused a short, which roasted the board, but I can't be sure.
Definitely doesn't look right, that's for sure. Especially the lower right (next to the ring finger) solder joints.
