Why isn't it connecting to my iPhone

My HomePod has power but doesn't connect to my iphone. The voice states it can't connect to the internet but given the device doesn't come up in the Home App I can't change it. Can anyone help?

First make sure your room is covered by your WiFI routers signal. Next reset the HomePod back to factory and follow the instructions in setting it up the first time.
