My Chromebook simply won't start . It has a completely dead screen but the charging lights, both orange and green are on steadily with no blinking. I've tried all the suggestions online but the attempts have had no effect whatsoever.

Hi Patrick,
Have you been able to try an external monitor? My grandson's Chromebook screen went out but I was able to plug in an HDMI cable and could see on the TV that everything but the screen was working. I remember it took a bit of homework to figure out the key combination that enabled the HDMI output, but other than that it wasn't hard.
From that I concluded the screen was bad and everything else was okay. In his case replacing the screen fixed him up.
Give that a try and let us know what happens.
