Iphone4S sprint model has a sim tray. Can i use the gsm sim card on this ? Without sim it shows searching then no service. When i put a gsm sim then it goes to activation screen. How to use this or can i unlock this iphone4s to use this in india?

for using the iphone4s with another operator you have to buy the updatable Gevey pro card. then you have to update your gevey according to your carrier by entering manually mnc or one more thing in software of gevey then you can put your another sim with this gevey into phone then hold for a second.
then go to settings then phone section there is a sim application inside that you will see unlock . press that 2-3 times then you will see your phone showing msg of your sim card which you have inside. then wait for few seconds it willl you the signals bars on the phone. ready to operate.
this can use on any iphone4s except canadian fido operator

Simran. Jailbreak the iPhone, go into cydia, and download UltraSn0w for iOS 5. Put the SIM card of whatever service you have in the phone and you're good to go. If you dont know how to Jailbreak, then just google it. The answers are all over the place.

ha ha thats not working in iphone4 and iphone4s. this only working in 3gs and 3g. thnx. any other suggestion.
Okay. Im not exactly sure what you just said @SIMRAN, BUT, yes, you can Jailbreak the iPhone 4S now. No, they do not have an unlock for the new baseband that comes with the 4S 5.0.1 update, and the iPad baseband is not compatible with the 4S. Just 3GS and below. Also, if your 4S is a Sprint phone, then no, you cannot unlock for a GSM carrier. Search the internet and you will find out that Sprint has locked the SIM trays in all 4S iPhones and started doing so since last October 11th, I believe. Bottom line, you cant unlock your 4S for 2 reasons. 1: Its not a GSM model, and 2: Unlock isnt available for the new 4S baseband yet. I THINK that answered your "question"? lol
i know there is no any unlocking process for iphone4 and 4s for 5.0.1 . but i m looking for how to proper activate the iPhone after restoring . now it shows insert sim to activate. when i put the other carrier sim then it show only compatible sims are allowed. now i m looking for sprint cdma sim. but i saw in the internet there is no sim now for the cdma iPhones. i already jailbroken and using this as iPod. now when i put the another carrier sim it shows network before using it goes to activation screen. i m receiving phone calls but phone is in international roaming . my carrier cut huge money from my balance of just 1 call. now i think you understand

If the phone has both gsm and cdma chip it should work global.You need to unlock your phone.A untethered jailbreak has been released.

is there any way to unlock the phone by cydia or any software. when i put the sim inside. it comes to activation screen then shows only compatible sim can used to activate.
my phone was recently jail broken and i am now using my sprint iphone 4s on tmobile network.... some unauthorizes dealers can do this for you... you just have to find out who does it

first restore it then connect to itunes , it will activate your iphone . after that when you insert a sim card it will go to actiavtion screen. now remove the sim card and jailbreak the iphone. inside there is SAM preferences . download it and activate it . then program the gevey card acc to your sprint network then insert it with any sim card. after inserting you will not get the network normally . have to do some settings in SAM or change some network settings or read out the google articles . thanx

u can use the redsnow and jailbreak it by putting it into dfu mode ....... it bypasses the activation .....means when connecting to wifi just press next ....it's done ... :-))

i have a one sim by i can make any carrier sim for proper activation of iPhones and others. this is only the test sim for gsm phones. but i have a sprint cdma iPhone. tell me is their any sim of sprint by i can activate my iphone4S.
