This system should still be covered under Apple warranty as it was just released. Are you sure you picked the correct system? To be sure plug in your systems S/N here EveryMac - Lookup see what it tells you, the newer models won’t report correctly, even still let us know.
As to your problem, did you have a liquid spill (or get it wet) or damage the system in someway?

you should get the trackpad replaced i believe,thats what it is most likely like 99% chance that its that
