Hello, I am concerned about purchasing a third party screen.
Are the screens provided on iFixit Genuine Apple Screen Products?
I had a scenario where I replaced my iPhone screen at the mall and I instantly regretted it because my phone was running slow. Later, I found out that it was possible to add malware in those third party screens.
Can anyone shed some light on this?

First off here’s the guide iMac Intel 21.5" EMC 2389 Display austauschen sadly iFixit doesn’t sell a replacement display for your system, likely do to the availability, typically iFixit sells used original Apple displays which have been fully tested.
The guide offers a link to a eBay seller of the display.

The iMac I have is iMac 21.5'' Mid 2010. I hope that is compatible with the screen, because I already purchased it! :(
I don't need the whole LCD screen replaced just the top glass part that is cracked.
@gracebear64403 - your question was a bit confusing as you vacillated between the cover glass and the display it’s self.
So the part in question is the cover glass iMac Intel 21.5" EMC 2389 Glass Panel unlike a iPhone display which is more than a cover glass it’s the. display and the cover glass here is just a custom cut sheet of glass with a few mounting elements and paint. Nothing here would stop the function of the system, only the fit might be off if the maker wasn’t careful in their measurements.
A display is electrically active as such there can be issues. But as far as Malware or Spyware being injected into the display, someone gave you a tall story! The display (LCD) can’t be infected as such. The LVDS connection is not able to support the data format and even the DP standards (retina screens) likewise can’t either. The only possible source would be the FaceTime camera, but even that is extremely remote even within a iPhone or iPad.
First generation devices (many years ago) did have risks as the PC world was a much more open not having the fears we have today.

@gracebear64403 - iPhones use a laminated cover glass/display assembly which is glued together so one can’t replace the cover glass alone. Review the fixit teardown for your exact model here you cabin see what yours is setup.
