Hi,
I've just purchased the battery replacement kit for my iphone 3GS. However, I'm wondering whether the replacement battery is original or not? If not, how's its performance compare to the original one that comes with the phone.

There are so many own part factories in Guangdong, China. Many of them also supply real apple or other electronic parts to Foxconn. It is not strange that they would make a little extra money by selling parts out to the market.

Many times there is a part number and its on the original battery. The batteries i have replaced have all worked like the originals.

Where did you buy the battery from?

I still want to know more. I replaced my 3GS battery with a third-party one, and phone discharges quickly, and actually shuts down at 40% displayed charge when there is a high drain on it (wifi or 3G access). Just wondering if iFixit got their batteries from the same provider.
