Why is my sim detected when it's not in and why doesn't my battery cha

So the phone recognizes the SIM even when it's none inserted and I can't charge it, it sometimes works(the charging) but it mostly doesn't, i thought maybe changing the charging port would do it but haven't tried it, what are your thoughts?
