My laptop comes own but doesn't charge

Does the laptop indicate that the battery is charging when the charger is connected to the laptop i.e. battery status indicator is orange or blue?

Do you mean that it turns on, works etc when the charger is connected but not when on the battery only?

Create a battery report to check the status of the battery.

When you have the report, compare the Design Capacity value versus the Full Charge Capacity value as shown by the report. For a good battery they are nearly the same value. You can work out as a percentage the battery status by using the formula Full Charge Capacity x 100 ÷ Design Capacity.

If the status is <30% you may wish to consider replacing the battery.

Go to p.30 to view the procedure to remove/replace the battery pack.

Search online for either 121500207 or 121500208 to find suppliers of the battery that suit you best. (These are the Lenovo part numbers for the 2 batteries that are compatible with the laptop. See the parts list on p.58 Item #11).
