khc29 kenwood prospero mixer goes straight to high speed

Good morning
I was in the process of making pastry and when I switched the mixer on it went straight to high speed.

I used the blender yesterday and was working fine and then just suddenly stopped, like motor had seized.

Now mixer is playing up.
