Why does my Sony Walkman wm-fx20 only play static and no music?
I've tried multiple tapes and it only plays static, not the actual music. How do I fix it?

The playback heads are most probably covered by oxide picked up from the tapes.
Try cleaning the heads using an audio cassette head cleaning tape and check if that resolves the problem. (examples only).
You may have to run the tape through a few times to get it all off. Follow the directions supplied with the tape cleaner

Hi @jayeff ,
I tried doing that but it seems that it won't play the cleaning tape at all. Also, when I press play with the player open, nothing spins. Is it supposed to? How can I fix this?
