Why my phone starts to charge a little bit then stops charging?

I have problem with this Phone, one of which where it will charge using a cable or a wire and charges normally for a moderate amount of time, but after approximately 5m or less it stops entirely? I don't know the reason, is it because my phone engineer friend fixed it earlier for other reasons? I need answer and thanks.
