Generally the first thing to check is the refrigerant pressure, the best way is to test it is via an OBD tool, the second thing is the AC clutch that engages the compressor, you can hear it when you turn on the AC but it works only if the there's a refrigerant to begin with.
So check if you have enough pressure inside the circuit.
