1 iPod won't turn on when plugged in.
Hello!
My iPod touch 2nd gen was working fine, but when I unplugged it it shut straight off.
Now when it's plugged in, it won't turn on.
I have already tried holding home and power button. That didn't do anything.
Any Suggestions?

I also only have 1 dock cable, how can I check if it’s good?

Try shining a light on the screen just to check for backlight ic failure common issue back in the day.

How was battery life on last use? Had you noticed any decline in it at all? anything at all unusual before it died or odd behaviour? Was it dropped or damaged even mildly In any way? Any work done to it? How long since last use how long have you owned it?
A lot of questions I know but the more info the better. It’s basically a screen issue, Battery, charging dock connector, Cable or the motherboard. Most likely a motherboard issue tbh.

I think the battery was almost completely dead. When I unplugged it turned off as soon as I took it out. I tested snd the 30 pin is ok.
