A power issue like a faulty power adapter, a drained battery, or a problem with the power cord connection could be the reason behind this. If that's not the case then hardware failures like RAM issues or faulty driver software can be the main reason.

What happens when you try to turn on the laptop - fan starts, HDD spins up, etc or nothing at all?
How do you know that the battery is OK?
