Heating coil element is rusted
So, I've taken apart my Farberware FCP412 coffee pot and found the entire heating coil/element is rusted badly. Can the heating element be replaced or shall I just trash it and buy a new coffee percolator?
Ist dies eine gute Frage?

@michele1l don't bin it yet :-) Let's see what you got going on there. It should be replaceable. Post some good pictures of all that stuff with your Question. That way we can see what you see. Bilder zu einer vorhandenen Frage hinzufügen

@michele1l yeah, looks a little crunchy :-) I wonder if it still works. Rust in itself should not spell the death of it. Do you have a multimeter? If so set it to Ohms and measure the resistance of the heating coil. If this is a 110V percolator the resistance should be about 12ohms.

Thank you for your help!
It doesn't heat enough to make it "percolate" up the tube, but now it starts to heat up and shuts off. I ordered a replacement thermostat before I actually took it apart to see that the old thermostat is pretty immaculate but heat element is corroded. Yeah, I'm getting a new pot. Appreciate your help tho 👍
