Disc no longer spins after replacing laser head of optical drive

Discs were no longer being read so after some troubleshooting, I ordered a replacement laser head for the optical drive PVR-802W. After following this guide the disc no longer spins at all. I assume something I did was wrong. The 2 things I can think of are either:

I do not have a soldering station and I think the replacement part had a anti-static security
During replacement, I uncoupled all 3 ribbon cables. It's possible they are not set correctly or (hopefully not) even broken

Any suggestions or expertise here is appreciated.

Hi there!

You do need to remove the anti-static security. Otherwise you will get the problem you are having now.

Also, what is possible, is that one of the sensors are damaged and thus, it does not regonize the disc.

And when you are there, please double check all ribbon cables. Just to be sure. If you are not sure, feel free to share some pictures with us.
