How do I change the Vintage bernina 700 capacitator
My capacitator was smoking when I turn my machine on. I've dismantled the motor and can see that the capacitator is busted. How do I go about repairing it?
Ist dies eine gute Frage?

Hi @sherrillneo
Post an image of the other side of the capacitor to show what is printed on that side.
Alternatively, here's a replacement capacitor for the machine.
There are actually 4 capacitors in the one can (see Description > Components in the link above)
Due to the different wire colours used between the original capacitor and the replacement, hopefully there is a wiring diagram of the capacitors on the original capacitor showing which wires belong to which capacitor in the can so that you know which wires to connect to the machine.
Before removing the capacitor wires from the motor, take pictures and also perhaps tag wires so that you know which wire went where as some look very much the same colour.
Once you know which wires belong to which capacitor in the can and also where they connect to, refer to the wiring diagram on the replacement capacitor (or in the link) and note which colour wire corresponds to the ones in the original and then connect them to the motor in the appropriate spot. Click on the 3rd small image of the capacitor showing the capacitor motor connections
