Okay, so I have a CD Walkman model DE-220 and it won’t turn on at all. I’ve tried to open it but I think I missed some screws somewhere and I can’t find them. Could you please help? Have a nice day!
the previous picture is what I think may be causing the problem, but I’m new to this stuff so I’m not sure. I think it’s corrosion.

@robbie12 sounds like an issue with the main power rail. To disassemble your Walkman use the Sony D E220,225,226 service manual. It also includes the schematic etc. If you need any help with that, post some good pictures of the main board with your question. That way we can see what you see and hopefully help you further. @robbie12 well let's start off with the easy stuff. Let's see if your circuit board gets power. Set your multimeter to VDC and a scale of something like 12V. Assuming Red probe is positive and Black probe is negative.
Connect your power supply. Then touch the Black probe to the Neg probe and the Red probe to the Pos probe (as marked on the picture). Let us know what voltage that shows. Next do the same for your battery. Disconnect the power supply and connect a battery. Next measure the contacts on the circuit boards the same way as you did with the power supply. Let us know what voltage you get.
In the meantime check online for some reading about resistors, capacitors and Diodes. You have a lot of Diodes on your board and you will have to check a couple of those later on, if we do not find any error quickly. This is fairly good. Then read about how to do basic testing of those components. This one is from a really great tech and really easy to understand. Then there is a good one right here. sorry about the homework ;-)

Okay, so I disassembled the Walkman, but I don’t know where the main power rail is, or how to fix it.
@robbie12 you would need to use the schematic and check with a multimeter. Ever done anything like that? You can always post some good pictures of the circuit board and we can try and help you with checking for any obviously damaged components. Otherwise you will have to find someone who can do it for you.
Sorry, but I don’t see where the manual says anything about the main power rail. I did post some pictures though. And I haven’t used a multimeter before, but my grandfather says he might have one.
sorry about the delay in the testing, I havent been on Ifixit for a while, but I tested the board using the multimeter, and the board is not getting any power at all!
