2003 Troy Bilt pony 42" deck belt broke, noticed a spring on the left side deck is broke, I cant find where the forward end of the spring connects. Can anyone help me.

Just verifying that it is a 42" mower?
According to the parts diagram for the model number that you posted it is a 38" mower.
If this is the case, there are 2 springs shown in the mower deck 38" parts diagram, Items #22 and #23. Unfortunately I couldn't find a video that shows how to replace them but the diagram may help you to see where they're attached to.
Depending on which one is broken, search online for the part number only, relevant to the spring you need, to find suppliers that suit you best.

I made a mistake; it is a 38" I was referred to a youtube video. The video had nothing to do with the spring, but it showed the spring and where it connected. It connected to the belt tension spindle bracket.

@lynwood12623 it will help if we can see your deck and where the spring currently sits. I assume its for an idler pulley but we will need to see this. Post a picture with your Question Bilder zu einer vorhandenen Frage hinzufügen
