My power stirring is very tight and hard to turn, but my Explorer does not take power stirring fluid. It is worse at slow speeds. Why is this happening and can I fix it myself?

There was a recall for 2011-2013 Explorer models regarding steering problems. You may wish to check if your vehicle was one that was affected and if it was fixed at the time
There's also been a subsequent recall for another problem with the vehicle as well, that may possibly affect steering control.
Check that the front tyre pressures are OK and not too low. Low tyre pressure can affect steering adversely. All the tyres should be approx. 34psi.
