Too many questions.. Super slow, cant enter recovery, diagnostics, etc
Long story short but, my macbook just started behaving ridiculously slow. The desktop got filled with thousands of icons after some icloud shenanigans apparently.
Made the icons go away by disabling stacks in view options but its still slow..
At one point i tried to do firstaid repair to the drive from inside the os and it was progressing but it shut off randomly during it.
during and after all that ive tried to boot into recovery mode or safemode or into a usb drive with os setup to try to repair the disk to see if itd improve anything but it just sits at the loading screen with fans full blast for hours.
For about 12 hrs ive also had it with the battery unplugged and have been using it as such.
Ive tried the nv ram reset and it does reset and make a sound (before the chime wouldnt even happen when the logo came on) but on subsequent resets it stops ringing.
So battery still off i plug it in do the smc reset and then the laptop turns on and i try to enter safe mode so im holding shift while its booting enough time passes and i stop holding it and the loading bar is full then the laptop turns off by itself and it hasnt come on since
Prior to this it seemed like the battery was dead since it would just not do anything without being plugged in. But yeah. When plugged in the led near the golden button in the motherboard turns on but when unplugged it quickly goes off.
Ist dies eine gute Frage?

Given the systems age I'm suspecting the battery is dying!
Let's get a better view of things with the charger plugged in see if you can download this gem of an App CoconutBattery it will allow you to see more useful info. Post a snapshot of the Apps main window here so we to can see it then we can guide you on the next steps.
