No boot, coil whines, hot chips

So my dell XPS, nothing (literally no fans, nothing on the screen) happens when trying to turn it on with or without the battery. When I removed the battery and plug in the charger I hear whining initially high pitch then it switched to a lower pitch. The igpu chip also gets really hot alongside a coil block and a MOSFET(I think). But none of this happens with a battery connected. I visually checked for burnt capacitors or something that can cause something like a short, but to no avail. Help would be appreciated
