Check if the battery is swelling and causing the case to come apart.

Here's the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop.

Go to p.35 (39 of 95 pdf) in the manual, to view the procedure how to remove the battery.

If the battery is swollen it will need to be replaced. Go to Item #12 on p.79→p.80 (83 →84 of 95 pdf) in the manual to find the part numbers for the batteries that are compatible with your particular laptop. Search online for the applicable part number to find suppliers that suit you best. The part number should also be shown on the battery in the laptop, if you wish to verify.

Remember to dispose of the old battery responsibly. The environment will thank you for doing this.
