Why is my xm 4 blinking red when I charge it?

when i plug in a charger it keeps on blinking red, i thought it was the battery that is damaged so i changed it but it still blinks red. and when i charge it while the battery cable is unplugged it still blinks red. does it mean i have a problem with the carging port or the mainboard?
