battery replacement, screen won’t turn on, motherboard overheating

Good evening, I received an iPhone SE 2020 which had a swollen battery and wouldn’t turn on at all. So I replaced its battery, and when I tried to power it on, the screen wouldn’t light up and the motherboard was overheating. Could it have suffered a short circuit?
