Lightning hit my house and now my refrigerator flashing Error Code C66

Samsung Refrigerator RF34H9960 Touchpad not responding. Error C 66 Flashing and all normal cooling. Ice machine works and water also works. All light works. Touchpad wouldn’t respond. Also bought brand right bottom touchpad and still flashing Error Code C 66. I tried unplugging the refrigerator and waited for a week to make sure the error code would reset but still flushing error code C 66.

Hi,

I bought brand oem Samsung chef Refrigerator Rev. 08

MODEL CODE : RF34H9960S4/AA mainboard and replaced with the newer one and error C66 is still flashing. The touchscreen still wouldn’t respond.

Tried to press all buttons and non responsive.

I also replaced the freezer right side touchscreen with newer oem parts and still no . Ice machine works, the backing fan works fine and ice buildup.

THANK FOR ANY HELP.

On p.75 of the service manual it shows that error code 66 indicates a door handle heater open error.

The manual describes how to test where the problem is. See p.110 for the location of the CN51 connector on the mainboard

Looks like the lightning strike not only took out the touchpad, but possibly the heater element/element power circuit as well

Where is the location of the CN51 connector on the mainboard. Which side if the Samsung Chef Refrigerator to find the mainboard?

The information is in the service manual I linked in my answer

See p.35 for the board location and p.110 for where the CN51 connector is located.

Any update on this issue? I have the same problem and tried the steps in the manual with no success. I also cannot find in the manual where the actual heater is located. It says door but there are 4? I am to assume the heater it is referring to is the auger assembly for the ice maker as this is the only heater I can think of.

Here's a link that shows where the heater is located. (I think). It is a cord heater designed to fit inside the handle.
