How to fix my volume control

I bought a used 3DS XL from a friend and he said tha the volume control frozed on the max volume.
The volume is maxed out forever, I've even cutout the p2 plug from a broken headphone to put it on the 3DS so it doesn't make sound on public places or late in the night.
I'm just looking for a way of fixing it so I can enjoy the musics and sfxs f the games.

You might want to check the volume slider!

This is not a easy process, but will most likely solve it.
