Mikey, it's not clear if you're asking a question and answering it or what.
Assuming the Pulse X internals are pretty much the same as the regular Pulse, there are two mesh coils inside. The top coil appears to be the one used in normal mode, and the top and bottom coils are both used in pulse mode. I'd say it's more likely the bottom coil has either gotten damaged or the connecting wire has been jarred loose, in which case normal mode would work but pulse mode wouldn't.
Does the ring around the edge of the display flash red when you're trying to draw in pulse mode? That seems to indicate the vape hasn't detected a coil present from what I've seen.
