Wii motion plus needs recalibrating more than should be necessary
Hello! I have a first party Wii Motion Plus that seems to need recalibrating way more than should be necessary. As in recalibrating is necessary every 5 minutes with this thing. Oddly enough, moving the remote around in a circle (as in "drawing" an imaginary circle in the air with the tip of the remote) seems to help somehow. Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong with this, or is this normal? UPDATE: After trying it with a different Wii Remote, it seems to stay much more calibrated, but it still drifts a little bit. I also took the jacket off, so it's possible that that helped. I have no way to be sure which, though.
Ist dies eine gute Frage?
Hi!
Can you show us a video regarding this? Is the sensor bar still OK? Thank you :)!

Unfortunately, I still can't take photos or videos with the camera on this thing. I don't know what the problem is with it, but at the moment it's still fairly low on my list of things to fix. In any case, that's another story for another question. It also seems to be behaving better, but it still drifts out of alignment every now and then, and by that I mean about every 15 minutes or so. The sensor bar is fine. Three out of four of my Wii Remotes work fine with the IR sensor. Once while I was using the remote with the jacket, though, and the pointer wouldn't show up on the screen. I took it off, and the pointer was there again. So is it possible that the jacket was to blame, and having to recalibrate the gyro every 15 minutes is relatively normal?

It could be normal yes. It happens a lot that you need to recalibrate.
I recommend to test it a while without the jacket and see how it goes!

It does seem to be behaving a lot better without that jacket. Do you think that if I widened the sensor window (for lack of a better word) on the jacket it might work better with the jacket on? Warranty is no cause for concern here. I mean, that warranty has been gone for like 15+ years, so it's not like I could void it now. It's also not like I care whether or not the warranty is void or not, because I fix stuff myself. I mean, otherwise I probably wouldn't be writing this, after all.
