RT on Dualsense not working following joystick replacement

I've just replaced the joysticks and the right trigger just is not working at all. I've replaced the ribbon cable with another one from another bdm 010 controller but still not working sadly.

Grateful for any advice on how to check for a short or anything. This is my 2nd joystick replacement (first time on bdm010) I've got a multi meter

I am still buying replacement ribbon cablss from AliExpress just in case.

I have tried also:

switching the trigger modules and cleaning the membrane

cleaning the whole board with 99% isopropyl

hard resetting the controller

How are the traces on the motherboard?

Hi!

Reading the reddit post you did tried a lot of things already!

It could be the connector regarding where the ribbon cable goes in to.

Could also be that the board had too much heat causing something to die on the board.

If the connector is still fine and you already replaced that one, you might want to replace the board… it won’t be easy to find out what is broken there :(.

Do you think it's worth me applying heat with a heat gun around the area where the connector is to try and "reflow" any broken/cracked solder joints? I'll kapton the whole board aside from the connector

You can try to reflow the board and that part. I doubt it if this will work, but you can try and see what happens. Just make sure that the board is lying down stable and that it’s completely cooled down before you take it.
