ABS ESP light turns on and off

My ABS ESP light comes on when I step on the brake pedal and my brake lights won't work but randomly the ABS ESP light doesn't come on and my brake lights do work. what can I do to solve this issue?

Have you checked the level of the brake fluid in the brake master cylinder in the engine bay is at the correct level?

Have you checked the hose/connections on the brake booster to make sure that there are no cracks, splits or loose?

Also check that the switch on the brake pedal is working OK
