Why is my left earcup making a weird wind/popping noise?

I saw someone with a similar issue with the XM4s. His fix was to remove the ANC mic and clean it (this would make sense as it disappears when ANC is off). However, the internals of the XM5 seem different, at least for the ANC mic. I left it cup side up for a few hours, hoping that might remove any moisture, but it didn't seem to do the trick. Any help?
