Is it always the same app you try to download and install or any new app?
Does it install OK and then the phone shuts down when trying to open the app or sooner?
Is there sufficient storage left in the phone to allow for the installation of a new app?
Is the app compatible with the OS version in the phone?

If you go to the Google Play Store to download the app, on the app page scroll down to find information regarding the app compatibility
