Just wondering if there was a replacement OLED display for the ally X?

I would say there's not.
Given that the screen is an IPS screen and not an OLED screen most likely the motherboard display circuit was designed to use it instead of an OLED screen which is powered differently.
The IPS screen uses separate LED backlighting to light up the LED pixels, whereas in an OLED screen the pixels generate their own light.
