Won’t boot, Red light only, clicking sound when pressing
I’m having an issue with a Wii (CRVL-CPU-30 board). Before teardown it was basically normal(but it quiet beatup so I think try cleaning), but during disassembly I stopped when I was about to remove the black plastic/shield. After that, the console no longer boots.
When I plug in power, I get a solid red light (standby).
When I press the power button, the console does not turn on; instead I hear a clicking sound from the motherboard.
If I hold the power button, it just keeps clicking repeatedly. P/S: PSU Adapter work before and still work for 2 another Wii.

A solid red light + clicking when pressing power on a Nintendo Wii usually means the motherboard is trying to start but immediately shutting down due to a short, missing rail, or protection trigger. Since it happened right after partial disassembly, the cause is very likely something simple.
Below are the most common causes for a CRVL-CPU-30 board after opening.
Loose or Missing Power Button / Front Panel Cable
The Wii power button is connected through the front panel ribbon cable.
Symptoms
Red standby LED works
Clicking when pressing power
No boot
Check
Make sure the front panel ribbon cable is fully seated.
Inspect the small connector near the front edge of the board.
If the cable slipped out slightly during teardown, the console may misread the button.
Try reseating it.
Metal Shield / Ground Contact Issue
You said you stopped before removing the black plastic / shield.
The Wii uses the metal shielding as ground.
If something shifted:
board touching metal incorrectly
missing screws grounding board
shield partially lifted
The board can short or trip protection → clicking.
Test
Remove the motherboard completely from the shell
Place it on cardboard
Connect:
power supply
video (optional)
power button ribbon
Then try turning it on.
Bluetooth Module Not Connected
On the Wii, if the Bluetooth board is disconnected, the console won’t boot.
It normally:
powers on
then shuts down
But sometimes causes power cycling.
Check the small vertical board near the front USB ports.
Reseat it.
Wi-Fi Module Not Connected
Less common but possible.
If the Wi-Fi board cable is loose, the system may fail early in boot.
Reseat the small mini-PCI style board.
