You will probably need access to an OBD diagnostic tool to reset error codes, these can be found on certain auction sites and other places or if you visit to a local garage they may do the job for a fee.
The only other thing that may need checking that the new headlight module doesn't require coding to the car if it is connected to the CAN Bus, I have had this issue when changing certain modules on Volvo cars.

What is the model and year of the vehicle?
Have you checked that both the L and R low and high beam headlights work?
