fingerprint sensor not recognised after battery replacement

I replaced the battery in my phone, it was working perfectly for a few hours then the sensor stopped recognising my finger and now it says its not recognising the sensor at all. I have tried:

• Factory reset
• reseating the display connector
• checked the fingerprint sensor under the battery

everything seems to be fine but I can't get it to recognise the sensor, I do also have a second S22 ultra with broken touch, would it be worth swapping the boards or are the fingerprint sensors locked to the board?
