Games loading in but just sits with the badges spinning

I got a PS3 2001a and wanted to play some older titles, i did the two things to organize the files and fix corrupted ones however only certain games work, God of war, gta4, and dmc4 all work, but for instance twisted metal, war on Cybertron they will boot up, update fine, but they will get into the first black screen after the company logos and just show the spinning loading badges infinitely, I don't know what to do

Hi!

Important to know: which games are downloaded and which games are on disc? Are all the games download, or on disc?

In this case it’s most likely the laser that need to be replaced..

Guide: PlayStation 3 Slim Laser Unit (Laser and Mechanism) Replacement

It’s recommended to remove the laser first to see which model you need.

What you can try before replacing the laser is to replace the HDD for a new one and start over again with the new software on it.

But since they are all disk games, it’s most likely the laser..
