Digitizer problem bottom row icons don't work
The bottom row icons (above the home button) cannot be selected, so one cannot de-select running apps or control music

I have had this problem with iPhones and have fixed it by reseating the digitizer connector. In some cases I had to replace the whole digitizer in order to fix it.

I would start by disconnecting the ribbon cable, cleaning the connectors with 91% isopropyl alcohol, and then letting it dry for at least an hour. After reassembling the touch if it does not work, I would order a new digitizer.
