Where does the steel sping retainer clip go?
A stainless steel clip 6mm (0.25") wide, hooks one each end, fell out during disassembly, and I cant figure out where it goes.

Was trying to find out where a very noticeable squeal is coming from. I couldn't really figure out how to open the case and ended up flipping the whole thing around 5 or 6 times before this part came loose and fell out. (I wanna say it was from the top side of the case, but not entirely sure.)
Seems to work fine without it with no extra noise or vibrations. Squealing was from one of the motor's bearings and was remedied with some dry grease.

Hmm, it looks like it’s to keep something on it’s place. Maybe a extra layer for the top case? If it’s fine without it, I would just leave it. Is that fine with you?
