whenever I put my Mario galaxy disc in (which is brand new BTW) it reads the disc plays for a minute or two and then It just crashes and says, please eject disc a turn off the console. what should I do?

Hi!
Sound like laser issues. I would replace that one, most likely it will fix the issue completely.
They are known to fail now at this age.
