Why is it that when I charge my Infinix cellphone, the charging is not

Start with the cable and charger before anything else. Try a completely different cable, ideally a new one. Cheap or worn cables are the number one cause of intermittent charging and it is easy to assume yours is fine when it is not. Also try a different plug or charge from a laptop USB port to rule out the adapter.

If the problem follows the phone regardless of what you plug in, grab a torch and look straight into the USB port. Llint and pocket fluff compresses into the back of the port over time and stops the cable making proper contact. If you can see any debris in there, use a wooden or plastic toothpick to gently tease it out, never anything metal. You would be surprised how often this is the entire problem. While you are looking at the port, check if it feels loose or wobbly when a cable is inserted. If there is any movement, the solder joints holding it to the board have likely cracked from repeated plugging and unplugging. That needs a repair technician to reflow or replace the port.

When it cuts out, does the charging indicator disappear entirely or does it just slow right down? That will help narrow it further.
