Released on June 23, 1996, Model NUS-001, the N64 is Nintendo's first, and, up until the release of the Switch, only 64-bit gaming console (The GameCube, Wii, and Wii U could perform 64-bit floating-point calculations, but this is not true 64-bit architecture).

Will these broken vias affect my mod?

Hi, I'm doing the pixelfx mod for my N64 and I'm using the full size HDMI port so I need to remove the AV port. I sucked up all the solder with my sucker, but didn't see that there a little bit left so when I removed the port it ripped out two vias will it affect the mod?

Hi!

I cannot help you with the mod, but I definitely recommend to fix those solder pads yes.. It's a good idea anyway to have everything intact before proceeding.

Aren't those anchor points for the AV thermal? cause it was soldered at the bottom of the board. I uploaded a pic of were the port was soldered

You are correct. The downside is fully intact. You should be able to proceed.

I'm gonna vote no, I don't believe the damaged vias are going to be a problem.

Vias are used to connect different layers of the circuit board; they do this by filling the inside walls of the cylindrical hole with solder, thus completing a circuit between separate layers of the PCB. In your case you've torn off the copper layer on that side of the circuit board, but the thing is, those copper traces aren't connected to anything but the via itself, so them being missing can't hurt anything. I'm assuming the solder cylinder lining the hole is most probably still intact, so whatever other layers are being connected by the via should still be connected.
