Seems like it may be a faulty wiper motor "park" switch or electronic control board. (The park switch is open when the wipers are in the home position)
As both are located in the wiper motor assembly it's probably easier to just replace it.
Unfortunately I cannot find a video or guide that shows how to do this for your specific model but generally it's the same for most as you first have to remove the wiper blades and then the cowl panel between the hood and the windscreen to access the wiper motor.
