Seems like it could be a faulty brake light switch which is operated by the brake pedal.

Either the contacts inside the switch are faulty i.e. short circuit or the switch stays in the operated position when the brake pedal is released.

Here's a video that shows how to replace the switch.

If the switch is faulty, search online for Sonata (insert model year) brake light lamp switch to find suppliers that suit you best.

Here's an image of the wiring diagram for the stop lamp circuit for the 2005 Sonata that may help if it's not the switch
