I’ve tested 3 different cases and had the setting on at all times and its still not working whenever I cover my Ipad while keeping the software updated.
It seems to be a hardware magnetic sensor issue, is it possible to fix it?

Within the cases are magnetics which hold the cover on, there is one other magnet more that interfaces with a hall sensor inside your iPad which then takes note when the cover is present or off the screen.
If I remember correctly the sensor is within the display assembly.
Are you sure you have the correct case? As Apple has move things from generation to generation. If that's not the case did you get your iPad wet or give it a good bang?

Yes its the correct case, I have another Ipad Air 5th Gen and the auto-lock when covered works fine with all 3 cases that I used, It seems the sensor inside the Ipad is broken, How do I fix that?
It has been dropped and wet throughout the years but It always had a case and a screen protector. No significant damage can be noticed as it looks like its in pristine condition and only the auto-lock feature seems to be broken while still performing quite well.
@bansheegaming - You might be able to locate the discrete part within the panel to replace it but getting to it and then hunting down the part to then reattach is a lot of labor and time. The easiest way is just replacing the display panel or just accept this iPad requires turning off manually.
